France - Paris

So much can be found on the internet for places to see in Paris.  Here are a few that my granddaughters really enjoyed.

Musee Louvre: Worth every Euro is introducing your kids to the Louvre with guides from Paris Muse. Eight and ten year old girls said the Louvre was the best part of their 4 days in Paris. We took the family tour. Adults loved it too. It was my 3rd visit to the Louvre and it still enchants!  The other Paris Muse tours that I have taken are the Intro to the Louvre, the Da Vinci tour of Louvre, and the Impressionists of the D'Orsey Museum.  They are expensive but it you love art and can afford to splurge, these art student guides can't be beat. www.parismuse.com

Sewer Museum. Paris is famous for its sewers. The good friend of Victor Hugo (author of Les Miserables) undertook the dangerous task of mapping the sewer system so many decades ago. It's no wonder the sewers played a role in Hugo's famous novel. Yes it is smelly. Why do they have open sewers right where the interesting history of the sewers is displayed. Could not stand the smell that long. Wouldn't hurt to have a separate tunnel without sewage. Very interesting to learn about.

Musee de la Musique: In the Cite de la Musique | 221 av. Jean-Jauros, 19e

The audio was a fantastic way to hear and see and learn about the instruments. It's a very interactive museum. Give yourself some time to take it all in. There are special stations for kids that I tended to listen to too. Adults and kids can go at their own pace.  Excellent Museum!

A cruise on the Thames is always a delight. At night you can see the Eiffel Tower sparkling.
