Luxembourg

Clervaux

Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is a landlocked country bordered by Belgium, Germany, and France. It has an area of 2,586 square kilometers/998 square miles. The very charming City of Luxembourg, with its upper and lower towns, is the capital.  www.lcto.lu

Clervaux is a small hilly town in the northern part of Luxembourg. Here is the area where the WWII Battle of the Bulge  took place. A museum there commemorates it.  The Family of Man, an exhibit of photos collected by Edward Steichen, is on permanent display in the Castle.

It is a lovely town to walk around. Up the hill is an Abbey that has its own little museum.

The Castle, or Chateau as they call it, is lovely and the kids will enjoy it. The town has lots of good places for ice cream.

Zip-lining: After the castle, walk up the hill or take the horse drawn cart to the Adventure Park that is a zip-liners dream.  All but the very smallest can do it as there are about 5 different levels zipping around the trees.  My 6 and 8 year olds had a blast. Cost is minimal for the use of hard hats and safety equipment. Unfortunately I can't seem to find the photos!
